Where to find your Place ID or review link

The quickest route is your Google Business Profile. Sign in, open your profile, and choose the option to ask for reviews. Google shows a short link you can copy. Paste it here to get the QR code and the message.

If you would rather use your Place ID, search for your business in the Place ID Finder in the Google Maps Platform documentation. It shows a code that usually starts with ChIJ. Paste that code and the generator builds the review link from it. Businesses with no public address sometimes do not appear in the finder: use the Business Profile link instead.

Asking in a way that gets reviews

Ask soon after the work is done, while the customer still remembers it, and make it one tap. A link sent by text or email, or a QR code on the invoice, removes the step where they have to search for you.

Ask every customer, not only the ones you expect to be pleased. Google does not allow reviews to be bought with discounts or gifts, and it does not allow businesses to ask only happy customers. A steady flow of honest reviews does more for you than a handful of perfect ones.

Questions

What is a Google Place ID?

It is the code Google uses to identify a business or place on Maps. Every business with a Business Profile has one, and a review link is built from it.

Does the review link expire?

No. The link and the QR code keep working for as long as your Business Profile exists. Nothing is routed through this site: the QR code points straight at Google.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google does not allow reviews to be exchanged for discounts, gifts or payment, and can remove reviews that were. Ask every customer and make it easy.

Where should I put the QR code?

On invoices and receipts, on a card you leave with the customer, and on the counter if you have one. Add a few words beside it, such as "Scan to leave a review", so people know what it does.
