BookingMachine for Squarespace
Add Online Booking to Your Squarespace Site
Paste one line of code into a Code Block and your Squarespace page shows your services, prices and calendar. Customers book and pay there, on your own site, in your own colours.
Add the booking widget to a Squarespace page
Squarespace only runs JavaScript on plans that include custom code. On the current plans that means Core and above; on older plans, Business and Commerce. On a plan without it, use the button method further down, which works everywhere.
Copy your embed code
In your BookingMachine dashboard, open the Widget page and copy the embed code. It is a single line.
Open the page in Squarespace
Edit the page where the booking form should appear, such as a Book or Services page, and click an insert point.
Add a Code Block
Choose Code from the block menu. Set the type to HTML and switch off Display Source.
Paste and save
Paste the embed code into the block and save the page. The widget does not run inside the editor: open the live page to see it.
What the embed code looks like
<script src="https://bookingmachine.io/embed.js" data-business="your-business" async></script>
Yours has your own business name in it. Copy it from the Widget page in your dashboard rather than from here.
A Book Now button on every page
To show a floating Book Now button across the whole site, paste the floating version of the code into Code Injection, in the Footer field. You will find Code Injection in your site settings under custom code.
Floating button code
<script src="https://bookingmachine.io/embed.js" data-business="your-business" data-mode="floating" async></script>
No custom code on your plan?
Add a Button block, label it Book Now and link it to your BookingMachine booking link. Customers book on your hosted booking page instead of inside your site. It takes a minute and works on every Squarespace plan.
Squarespace Booking Questions
Does BookingMachine replace Squarespace Scheduling?
It can. BookingMachine is built for service businesses that price by the job: the price changes with what the customer chooses, and it adds deposits, quotes, invoices and review requests.
Why does the widget not show in the Squarespace editor?
Squarespace does not run scripts while you are editing, so a Code Block with JavaScript looks empty. Save, then open the page in a private browser window to see the live widget.
Will it match my Squarespace design?
Yes. Set your brand colour and button style in the BookingMachine dashboard. The widget is isolated from your site template, so the two cannot break each other.
Can I put the widget on more than one page?
Yes. Paste the same code into a Code Block on each page. If you have several widgets, such as one per service, each has its own code.
